[nklr] the kashmir diaries

I thought some of you might be interested in this article and photos recently published in National Geographics Adventure magazine Dec/Jan 2005 issue. The author takes a 350 Enfield single over the highest public road in the world (+18,000') through a less than stable area of the Himalaya's and spins quite a good yarn about the journey. A good read if you can find the magazine, meanwhile there's a photo gallery here to give you a better idea of what he saw as well as links to other background information. Recommended reading. http://www.nationalgeographic.com/adventure/0412/photo_index.html Meanwhile, does anyone know whether or not a KLR has been over this pass? I'm thinking it must have happened by now. Now there's a thought on this dreary ass foggy day... Dale Stockton, A15 p.s. I could probably scan the article if you can't track it down otherwise. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! There may still be an organized motorcycle tour available into the Himalayas on Enfield 350s. It starts in Simla (India), goes into Ladakh, not Kashmir, and over what it claims to be the highest traveled road in the world, also >18000'. --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, Dale Steele wrote:

looking for 2003 seat

Post by Randall Marbach » Sun Jan 23, 2005 2:18 pm

I might. I have an A17 and an A9 that now is a parts bike, but might be a candidate for a casual restoration, and I need a purple seat. I have an A17 seat that I replaced with a corbin, It has about 2K miles on it. What year is your Barbie? I might need some other cosmetic parts as well.
