Hi,
I need to buy a fork brace but can't decide between the Happy trail
K-9 and SRC one. I read a few earlier posts about the subject.
I begin to think about the SRC fork brace. The design looks nice and
on the Dual-Star website they say that you can now use any dirt
tires with the brace. It is a must for me to use dirt tires.
But I like to ride my bike with the top of the fork about 3/4 inch
above the top tripple clamp. Question 1: Which fork brace will allow
me to do that without having the brace hitting the fender on large
bump? Maybe it's not possible?
Question 2: For the K-9 fork brace. I saw some pictures but does the
fork brace clamp over the forks boots? If not do the boots stay well
in place?
Thanks,
Patrick

fork brace and fork height
I just installed the SRC brace last week. You have to cut the fender no
matter what. I'm not sure about the K-9 from Happy Trails.
As for performance, the SRC fork brace definitely stiffens up the front
end.

A couple of us are meeting this Sat. 16th, 8am at the
Starbucks on H St. and Broadway. H St. exit, go east
2 blocks off I-5 south.
We are heading to Mike's Sky Ranch southeast of
Ensenada off HWY 3, then coming back up through
Laguna Hanson on Sunday back up to San Diego.
Anybody interested? Drop a line or show up Saturday.
I called Mike's and there seems to be plenty of room,
or you can camp.
Erik
