I need some help and I thought to turn to my biggest pool of resources; this list. I'm looking for original Kawasaki key blanks to fit my A3. I went to the local dealer today, guess how much key blanks were. $10 and change! A piece! No black plastic fob or anything, that was just for silver key blanks with "Kawasaki" printed on them! I was outraged, so I says to the guy;"Good Sir,...this is an outrage!" Boy, I sure showed him. Needless to say, I still don't have original Kow-keys. Any ideas out there of where I could look for some at a more reasonable price? I know I could get a key that would match up at any locksmith, but I want an original style. I can't help it, I can't help being so darn anal. The key (only key) I'm using now says "Yamaha" on it. My God, I'm lucky the bike hasn't blown up or something from using it! Jim Davis

Ignition: Key Blanks http://www.angelfire.com/ga/ericjazz/frMisc.html So you're not one of those nice little RUB-types? You don't want to pay over $10 for a key blank? Here is a listing of key blanks that will work for the KLR. Please note I can only speak for the blank I use, the rest were provided by others on the KLR list. I suggest taking the complete list of possibilities to your key shop, and let them decide which blank will work best for you. * Curtis SU-9 Suzuki blank * Curtis YM-58 blank * Ford 5 cut primary blank * ILCO KA15 X106 * ILCO YH38 X77 * ILCO X120 YH46 -- Marc, KLR650 A12, Loveland, Colorado, USA ----Original Message-----

Hey Thor, In response to:Have you managed to get a good, smooth-working key from the ILCO or Taylor blanks? We could only get the Taylor to work..then I asked him to get it to work on the Helmet lock , which took some serious filing on the smooth sides of the key to even get them into the hole. I'm glad I brought the bike there or it would have taken lots of trips there. Apparently the ignition hole was wider and more forgiving than the helmet hole (are we getting fallic here or what ???) On the way home I thought "duh, I should have tested the gas tank lock" but lucklily they worked fine there.. ===== Sammamish, WA '94 klr650 '03 ZR-7S '86 klr250 '86 yam it200n KLR 650 FAQ's http://www.bigcee.com/klr650faq.html __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
