Any ideas to better control the temperature on the KLR manifold
cooker as I just burned the s#!t out of my moms famous turkey

Try moving it back to the muffler.

Thursday's Martinsburg paper had a story about some "crime" ring in
DC. They hit Ridersville Cycle wednesday night and took $75K worth
of bikes right off the showroom floor. Somehow linked to the bikes
being stolen from DC. They said they'll have someone hooked real
soon.
