port vs starboard

Post by Norm Keller » Sun May 02, 2004 10:24 am

Fixer posted: since the internet and the list are global, terms such as "passenger's side" and "driver's side" can lead to some confusion... especially on a motorcycle related issue, where "passenger's side" would be aft and "driver's side" is foreward! Point taken, from now on I'll use port and starboard (VBG). I'm an old cage tech so slip into that as many people don't seem to recognize that left and right are the vehicle's so are defined as sitting in the seat (I guess either one VBG). The ironic part of that is that I worked overseas where we had both right and left-hand drive vehicles. .... Just wasn't thinking, sorry. On the other point- hydraulic brake light switch- please understand that I wasn't arguing with the validity of your project but simply setting out the commonly held view regarding "spongy" brakes for verification. You will be able to clear that one up with the hydraulic brake light installation as it should be immediately obvious as to whether the slight increase in expansion volume has any effect on the feel of braking. Either way it will be something else known for sure about the system so please don't forget to post your conclusion. Would you mind explaining (off list) why you want the hydraulic switch rather than the original style? I didn't understand from your post. It is just another cahnce to learn about the KLR. Copy it into Windows Notepad with wordwrap turned off. Then go to the end of each line and delete spaces untill its all on one line. --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Mark St.Hilaire, Sr" wrote:
