When I do my doohickey upgrade who (do you think) can help me. We
don't have any specialist KLR knowledge down here, let alone tools.
I'm mechanically challenged (to say the least) so doing it myself is
out of the question. Do you think the Kawasaki dealers will be up
for a job of this nature? Any other alternatives?

Not really the dealer's fault this time. Motion Pro lists the wrong puller for the KLR. Info in the FAQ. Both Jake and Mike have correct ones. Krokko -- Dr. J.
