I have the wolfman luggage alfa rear bag and it is fully loaded on the back of my bike, it still seems to move back and forth and side to side a little, any tips? Matt [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I run a bungee cord through the bag's handles and hook it to the back of the rack or the turn signals. I also usually put a bungee net over it to both stabilize it and give me handy place to stash a sweatshirt, hat, etc. __Arden --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Matthew Durtsche" wrote:

Matt, I had the same issue, and returned it. IMHO - the skimpy elastic cords do nothing to inspire confidence that the bag will still be there at the end of a ride. Guy At 05:36 PM 3/21/04 -0600, Matthew Durtsche wrote:

I've used the Alfa bag on some pretty rough tours without a problem, even dumped my KLR twice with it on, and it stayed attached. The only problem is having it bump me in the back because it shifts back and forth with the standard mounts. A bungee (or if you prefer something stouter, a nylon strap) attached through the grab handle to the rear of the rack takes care of it. I haven't found a soft luggage mounting system yet that I haven't had to supplement in some way to meet my needs. __Arden --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Guy B. Young II" wrote:

Doesn't the bag have any kinf of straps under it or on its sides that can be used to securily fasten it to the luggage rack or the passenger handles (turn signal brackets)? Nope, just some spindly shock cords. If the bag some kind of stiffener in it to tie in the bottom with the sides, it probably would have worked better. I didn't feel like screwin' with it by trying to adapt some secure tie down scheme, so back it went. Their Explorer Tank Bag, on the other hand, is a work of art and works perfectly - considering the odd shaped tank it has to roost upon. I'd buy another one of them in a heartbeat. Again, YMMV, but the Alpha Bag just didn't come up to my expectations. Guy At 11:16 PM 3/22/04 -0000, Jean-Philippe Granger wrote:

Eric, I stand corrected. Thank you for setting me straight. Guy At 05:22 PM 3/22/04 -0700, erich wrote:

In the quest for the perfect rear luggage, does anyone have a review on the MagsBags? (www.magsbags.com) Especially the Expedition or Journey bags? Love to hear your subjective, totally biased, yet experienced opinions! tanks, MarkB --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Guy B. Young II" wrote:

Guy, Are we talking about the same Alfa rear bag that Wolfman designed to fit the KLR? My Alfa bag has sturdy nylon straps with Fastex fasteners that hold the bag to the bike over all kinds of terrain. In fact, if you look at the Wolfman web site you can see the straps hanging down. It sounds like you're describing a tail pack type bag like the Marsee I sometimes use. To quote the product evaluation that appeared in Rider, "The bag's three straps kept it in place during my fire road run, but it did flop forward some a potential backrest or an irritation, depending on your mood. A single bungee cures the problem. Rated at approximately 45 liters, the Rear Bag holds a ton of gear, including 30-inch tent poles, and four compression straps keep the load tight and tidy." __Arden --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Guy B.
