barstow - vegas

Post by bobm_dr350se » Fri Nov 21, 2003 2:58 pm

I'm currently visiting Vancouver, BC and expect to head for Las Vegas in a couple of days. My plan would be to drive down I5 and then stop at Barstow, unload my KLR650 from the rear of my RV, and get my wife to drive the rig to Vegas while I do the Barstow-Vegas Dualsport route :-) I've no idea where the route goes so I'd like to request some help. Is anyone interested in actually doing the ride with me and leading the way? Otherwise can anyone give me directions so I can plot the route on my GPS (I've got very detailed GPS mapping software of the area)? Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. I'm leaving Vancouver on Fri (21st) and will probably have no Internet connection until I actually reach Barstow so a quick response would be good. Hope to drive down I5 and then head to Barstow, where I'd unload my KLR650 from the back of the RV, get my wife to drive the rig to Vegas, while I do the Barstow-Vegas DS route. I don't know where the route goes so I'm looking for some help. Is anyone interested in doing this ride with me and leading the way? Or, can anyone give me enough directions that I could input the route to my GPS (I have detailed GPS maps of the area)? Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. That's an interesting chart. I wonder how steep (or quickly) the horsepower and torque build with all of the known mods over a stocker. That's a pretty steep rate as is, just don't go too high. Thanks for the posting, I'd never seen it. Thad Carey A15 (at Barbie's house)
