rear wheel won't turn?

Post by MMMasters28@hotmail.com » Sat Aug 16, 2003 11:57 am

Hi, Had a flat and took off the rear wheel to replace the tube. Difficult, but with lots of effort got the tube in and the tire back on, and with even more effort managed to get the wheel and axle back on the bike. Now the rear wheel acts like it doesnt want to turn. Any suggestions? I loosened the chain tensioners and will now try and check the alignment, but what else might cause the rear wheel to be seized. Thanks , Mick --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.509 / Virus Database: 306 - Release Date: 8/12/2003

Most likely it is the rear brakepads are not mounted correctly in the caliper. See that both tabs of the brakepads are in the holder and that the brakepads are square to the rotor. If you had your sprocket carrier off when you had the wheel off, be sure to check that the spacer between the sprocket carrier and the hub is still there.
