[dsn_klr650] why change the exhaust?

Post by Dan Bittner » Wed Apr 23, 2003 1:24 pm

Just weighed the my stock can, 11.5 pounds, Laser Pro Duro was about 3 pounds less and yes it can be time consuming to get it dialed in when installed with a jet kit and intake mods, even when you understand basic engine tuning, which some of the "experts" on this list obviously don't. Matter of fact, I think this latest exhaust bashing thread was started by one of those who posted that by "enlarging the hole in the carb slide you will gain top speed". Very knowledgeable. Anyway, my mileage and results have been about the same as MrMoose, transforming the bike from a lean surging exercise in frustration (short penus thing I suppose), to a bike that is much more enjoyable to ride and nicer to look at in my point of view.
