While my 1987 klr650 was gone (stolen) I did research on what to
replace her with. I settled on the MuZ Black Panther. I bought a brand
new 2001 for $6195 and love the motorcycle. The bike has been a dream.
 I don't think I could've bought a better commuter bike. People
complain about the lack of range (120 miles before reserve) and that
the seat is uncomfortable. I didn't buy this bike to tour but have
ridden 400 mile days with no complaints. I don't ride it off road as I
have Husabergs for that. Lucky for me my KLR was found six months
after it was stolen ,a little battered but still running like a raped
ape. So now I have my KLR for "dual-sporting" and adventure touring,
and the BP for commuting to work and screwing around on the weekends
and the Husabergs for dirty fun.

Not sure maybe you tested prototypes? There isn't a bike in the MZ
lineup that costs more than $7,000 .
