Post by ryanwow2000 » Wed Jun 12, 2002 3:14 pm

I remember a post quite some time ago, mentioning an Odyssey battery supplier that sold them in the 60-70 dollar range. Does anyone remember this supplier? Cheers Ryan Bock A12 SF-Prudhoe Bay- Ushuaia beginning.... er... in about three hours, actually

I had exactly the same problem with my KLR about three months ago. Very soon it even stopped working at idle. At Kawasaki dealer shop, CDI unit, high voltage coil were changed with no success. Next, the alternator was rebuilt which didn't help. Eventually, at another place, the problem was found to be a short circuit between the ignition wire from ignition switch and the speedometer cable right under the front control panel! So if you ask me, make continuity test at different points and check for short circuits. Good luck! Saeed. Here's my problem: On my way to see the races at Road America last weekend my KLR quit running! Actually, It will sit an idle, but if I touch the throttle it dies. If I choke it it will idle up to 3000 rpm, but if I touch the throttle while on choke it still dies. I'm stumped, I disassembled the carb completely 4 times looking for gunk in any orifice, but nothing everything looks spot on. Any ideas, I could really use some advise. On the brighter side, my wife wasn't doing anything important(besides work) so she picked the bike and I up and I jumped on the Hawk GT and still made it to Road America. Just one bit of advise, Hawk's make for crappy 350 mile a day tourers, my rear still hurts.
