Does anyone know if KLX650 rims will fit on a KLR650 Larry

I'm looking at buying rims for my KLR. The only problem is that it has drum brakes. Since the only rims I see are for bikes with disc brakes, will this make a difference? Can't I just go by the number of holes and the rim will work? I just wanted some outside information before I made this investment. Thanks
