Thanx for your help....as always. Hal from Cleveland. Hal, the way I do it is with an air operated impact wrench. Since everything is sort of floating inside there, it's the easiest way. Several times when I didn't have the impact I used a long allen wrench (or hex w/ breaker bar depending on fork type) and gave it a good whack with a hammer. Often that will break it loose as well. I had a hard time also, I ended up taking the clips off the seals and putting the fork back together and put about 30-60 psi in the fork, seal popped right off.. Fred thinks this is a bad idea cause you can't clean the GUNK out of the fork. It worked for me. Dale

A piece of threaded rod ($1.50) and two 1 7/8" nuts (correct me on the dimensions folks) tightened against each other fit the damper rod perfectly. A cheap tool that I've used many times. Z

In the January-February 2001 issue of CityBike Bill Mittendorf describes his ride from Alamos to Creel on a DR350. Most of the problems seem to be with directions from the locals. Everyone was helpful even when they didn't have the correct answer. George Escondido, CA
