oil drain bolt

Post by eschelzig » Wed Mar 06, 2002 9:20 pm

Well, using the stock tools I managed to strip the oil drain bolt on my A15. This especially sucks when you know this would have never happened if you were at home with your trusty craftsman tools. But I am abroad, and am officially -- no pun intended -- screwed. Anyone got any ideas where I could get my hands on one of these things? If they are the same on all U.S. models, does anyone have an old one lying around they are no longer using? Am planning a trip to Turkey from Germany, and would like to change the oil every now and again should the need arise. Cheers, Erik in Berlin

I normally wear Size 11 Redwing Pecos boots (at least that's what I've worn for the last 13-14 years) On the tool thread, I have the CruzTools econokit (the bigger one that uses imported rather than domestic tools) and have been really happy with it. Wasn't too expensive, though I don't remember the exact price. Has to go in the saddlebags or a tank bag though; won't fit in the KLR tool spot. I keep a can of WD-40 for the chain there ;-) Ralph
