I've had an Odyssey battery in my KLR for six months. I got it from Advanced Battery Systems for $112 (free shipping). Harry SC

Yuasa battery from Sears for $35. 1 yr, no problems whatsoever and the only charge I did was when I bought it. Thought it was nice that they let me buy it with the acid seperate so I could feel happy about letting it sit around for a month before I installed it.

Wal-mart sells the same Yuasa battery under the "EverStart" brand for $30.00. It comes dry in the box with a plastic filler bottle of acid. The conventional battery in my Tengai lasted for over 3 years before it suddenly died last year (I think my bike was hit by lightning in the parking lot at work), and who knows how long the previous owner had it in the bike. I ran my A2 for over a year on a "near death" battery. I obtained that bike from the Jersey shore where it sat motionless in salt spray for 10 months. Weak Schmeak. Mark B2 A2 A3

Batteries are like tires, some are better than others. Since I ride other motorcycles and have other hobbies, sometimes my motorcycles will not be cranked for months. The dry cell does the job for me without having battery tenders. The Odessey is supposed to last eight years, the original only lasted one year. Harry SC

[...] The best thing I did was to fit a set of Metzeler road tyres. I did modify the stock muffler some time ago but I never got around to doing a dyno test before an electrical problem stopped the bike. Mister_T Melbourne Australia
