A reply to set things straight There has never been a ban on any non military kind of gun in Canada other than fully automatic weapons and at the beginning of the year 2000, assault rifles were added. The changes to our laws that the US gun lobby has gotten so pissed off about is that we have to register all firearms now, there is no ban whatsoever. We have always had to have an FAC (firearm acquisition certificate) That is a certificate good anywhere in Canada that has to be presented before you can buy a gun of any type. You obtain the certificate from the local police. They check your criminal history and you have to present your training certificate. That is a certificate to verify that you have attend a firearms safe handling course, offered by fish and game clubs, and gun clubs. You have to have it before you can get an FAC. I own 55 weapons, of which 18 are handguns. I have no special permits, or allowance to have these guns, just the regular paperwork everyone now has to have. I could have 5000 if I wanted. I just am not allowed to carry guns on me. So there is no problem, and the statistics are far weighted to our way of doing things, as to death and safety. In Canada if we were carrying a gun, it would be assumed we were out to hunt people. That is not allowed. Our system of no carrying, is better than the one in the US. Since my posting hit the newsgroup I have been email attacked like I could have never believed. Pretty venomous things about Canadians and about what should happen to me. One guy, and a regular poster has even invited my down so he can show me what a real beating is all about. I'll pass. I like the people in the US, but I sure as hell don't like their thoughts when someone disagrees with them. Tom McKenzie Nanaimo BC Canada tom@...

You picked a really bad time to be pissing on your Southern neighbors. We are just a tad sensitive right now. If someone hurt your feelings, in the words of my BW "Get over it." taf

abjustable carb needle e-clip position question.

Sometimes when your bike is started and stopped without fully getting up to operating temps, your muffler will collect condensation and blow out your "black crap" which is normal. When an engine is shut off after a long enough ride to get up to operating temps, there should be not much condensation to collect. Condensation is a normal byproduct of the internal combustion engine and is especially apparent during cooler outside temperatures. This is not to say that your "black crap" is not caused by an overly rich fuel mixture, but sometimes what comes out of an exhaust is not fuel but condensation which looks like and smells like fuel.
