nklr meteor shower tonight / i am an idiot

Post by Stuart Mumford » Sun Nov 18, 2001 11:12 pm

So I rented a ninety thousand dollar 29 foot class A motor home for the super rate of $88 a day for the weekend (thanks AAA) , drove it and the family out to Joshua Tree NP, got a space, went to sleep at 9 pm, got up at midnight and we saw a gang of meteors. Sometimes 3 at a time, a truly awesome spectacle. Well worth the cash and the trip. (As a side note, I went out there in '86 to see Halley's comet, it was cloudy so I got drunk and had fun anyway). Now the idiot part. Drove 150 miles home after not even hitting a curb all weekend, pulling into my driveway, I was making sure I didn't hit the fence post. I made so sure I didn't hit the bastard that I managed to put a tree branch through the gigantic front window on the passenger side. Thank goodness I took all the insurance they would sell me.
