Thought you all might enjoy this post from a bloke on the W650 list. Gino

Jon Haddock writes: KLR's are useless. In this country they are comprehensively outgunned in every respect by the Euro stuff as road bikes, Husqvarna, CCM, KTM and others all make better dual purpose bikes, with better suspension, better frames and higher performance. Of road they are a total ability . Even the relatively nimble KLX 650R has been dropped from the UK as despite being about 70lbs lighter it is about as much good as a chocolate teapot off-road. They make reasonable hacks for inner city dispatchers until the cycle parts fall to bits.... Jon H

The Brits have a lot more choice than the we do when it comes to dualsports. The KLR costs about 5000 quid in the UK and 5000 bucks in the US. With the exchange rate about about $1.60 to the pound, it's a bargain here. WTF's a W650? -----Original Message----- From: k650dsn@... Come on, Gino. I know you had a hand in egging this poor fool on! By the way, how well do the W650s handle on gravel? I know Gold Wings, V-maxes, Shadows, and Secas don't handle well maintained dirt roads worth a dang. "Swede" P.S. does anyone have an old 'Wing lying around that they'd let me mod/borrow for my "Haul Roseanne and the beer around the White Rim" ride?
