adding miles to an odometer- help!

Post by ryanwow2000@yahoo.com » Sun Sep 23, 2001 10:45 pm

I sure hope there's no pious DMV employees here... I need to put 7000 miles on my A-12 odometer in order to register here in California. I just bought the bike with 720 miles on it, and the last owner was from out of state and never registered it here in California. In order for me to register it here I need to put a different emissions system on it (fogettaboutit!) or have over 7500 miles on it. My current plan is to hook up an R/C car motor (25-35K rpm) for approx. 50 hours, but I'm afraid I'll damage the speedo cable housing. Any suggestions? btw- for the 'ethically concerned', I can only say that I will be putting less than 1000 miles on California roads before leaving the country for central and south america, indefinitely. :) Cheers Ryan

I just put in a new one after one year and 18,000 miles including 4 trips to Central and Southern Baja where I buy gas from some questionable containers. Kurt G.
