I dunno about jackets, but I can say a thing or two about big helmets. I had to precompress some of the foam in my Shoei RF-800 size XXL and also get a military haircut before I could wear it comfortably. I'll never make fun of people with size 16 feet because I know how it sucks to not find anything that fits after hitting four shops in a row. The largest street helmet I've found is the HLC CL-12 in XXXL. The second largest is the Shoei RF-R in XXL (now discontinued but a few colors are available very cheap from cycledepot.net), the third is the RF-800 in XXL. I think the new RF-900 is a tad tighter than the 800, ditto the TZ-1 or whatever the new expensive one is. HLC also makes the LT-12 in XXXL but I've never found one to try on. Same goes for the new AC-10. Also, I pulled on an Arai Quantum one day that actually fit - I think it might have had some of the pads replaced with different sizes. Arai makes different pads for their helmets. I have never put on an Arai since then that fit. Off-road helmets: I've never found a single helmet that I can get completely onto my head. The closest one I've found is the CLX-3 in XXL. www.hjcmotorcyclehelmets.com lists an AC-X1 in XXXL - I might have to try one. You guys who've ridden with me now know why I only wear street garb. MX gear with a street helmet is a true fashion emergency. I'm not a fashionable person (hell, I ride a KLR) but even I have my limits. As for where to buy... Cycle Gear in Fullerton has a good selection of helmets but not many extra large sizes. Same goes for Chaparral in San Berdoo. You will probably have to find a shop with a sympathetic counter-guy and start ordering until you get one you like or can work with. You can ignore all of this if you have a mass-market XXL-sized head. In that case, there are plenty of choices. I found a good selection of jackets at Chapparal in San Berdoo. Bought a Hein
Gereke in 2xx but returned later for an xl. Prices were around 160.-275. they
are supposed to have a parking lot clearance in Oct. Since the desert riding
season kicks off about that time. I'm told that the prices are cut a lot for
this sale.
