Yesterday I was taking a few hundred mile ride and was thinking about
how effective the stock windshield was, even though it was short.
With all my old bikes, and there were many, I always felt wind
exhaustion after riding a few hundred miles, but with the KLR, I
didn't have that feeling at all.
A few months back I bought a Clearview Windshield that was nine inches
higher than my stock KLR's windshield. It looks nice on the bike, but
I believe it makes no difference in wind protection.
I also should mention that after removing the clear protective coating
to mount it the second time, I found an aberration in the center of
the shield that couldn't easily be seen when it was wrapped. I don't
look through the windshield while riding, so it really doesn't matter
that much to me, but others may want to really look it over before
removing the protective wrap so it can be returned.

why is she so hot ....2!

I've never heard it called a "fan" before. Oh, you mean on the bike... Could be a dud temperature switch in the bottom of the radiator, or relay or wiring problems further up the harness. First things first, how is the coolant level in the radiator and the overflow bottle? Lets see if the fan wiring is ok, ground the temp switch wire somewhere, (on some exposed radiator metal works for me). Even with the key off, the fan should run if you ground that wire. Get the bike hot, around 3/4 up the gauge should get the temp switch hot enough to engage the fan. If the fan doesn't run, ground the wire to the temp switch onto the the radiator metal somewhere and see if the fan runs. If it does, the temp switch is cactus. If it still doesn't run, it's a problem up in the wiring somewhere. Mister_T> Sorry for my last hurried post....she was hot and the fan WAS NOT > running! > Damn...I hate getting old!
