squeaky wheel problem

Anybody ever have problems with the speedo adapter on the front hub squeaking? When I disconnect the speedo cable the squeak goes away. I've lubed my cable and that doesn't help. I packed grease into the speedo adapter on the front hub and that stopped the squeak for about 400 miles. Now the squeak is back and louder than ever. HELP! I can't handle the squeaking any more.
