Hey list,
I've noticed that quite a few people on the list seem to enjoy
wheelies (it IS fun..hehe), so here's a little tech tip from the
www.motorcycle.com staff.
For those of you who didn't get to read it yet, they matched up
recently a couple of 'budget' bikes, and the KLR was one of them.
They have a video on the site of a KLR doing a nice long wheelie. My
friend Raz e-mailed them about it, and here's the reply:
>The KLR is the easiest bike in the world to wheelie. Get it rolling
along
>in second gear (about middle third of powerband), slighty pull in the
>clutch so that it slips and give it a solid blip
>of throttle. As the revs rise, continue to aply throttle as you let
out
>the clutch. It'll come right up. As the bike nears the balance
point, ease
>of the throttle a bit and it'll pretty much do whatever you want it
to do
>with minor throttle adjustments.
>
>And yes, I shifted the KLR, itno fourth, before going 'round the next
>corner...
>
I hope this'll help...I myself can't wait to try it out...There's
still snow here in Montreal.
