It got into the 50's here in Big Red Country today so
I decided to dewinterize the KLR and take it for a
spin. The side streets are still ice and snow covered
and the main roads were all wet from melting snow. After
15 min of riding in traffic, I had to stop
at a quick shop to clean the road spray off my visor so
I could see out of it.
Any of you full time commuters out there have any words
of wisdom on how to keep your visor clean, other than
not riding on wet streets in traffic?
I saw in the Aerostich catalog that they have a thumb squeegee.
That you can use while riding to squeegee you visor.
Does something like that work?

nklr - ride and tour master report
Well, I haven't yet picked up my 2001 K yet, so I had to ride something
else today. Temp 33f, rain/sleet mix, roads..wet. Did 40 miles on my
trusty '71 CB350. Nice powerband for the slippery stuff...there is
none. Perfect size for slippery stuff...you can easily put your feet
down to catch yourself. She worked fine for me.
Anyways, I was wearing my two piece Tour Master Cortech jacket and
pants. Pants have full-length zippers on legs with velcro. Both pieces
have soft armor. Jacket has removable liner. I made it through the
rain and sleet without getting wet. Pretty comfy too as far as warmth.
I think for the money, this is an excellent suit. Second time I've worn
it in the wet and have been extremely pleased.
Kind of glad I didn't have the K yet, due to the traction limitations of
the tires in the wet road conditions.....
