hey list just returned from a short(50mile) winter ride on my trusty old klr.she started right up and after a few minutes on the enrichener we took off.the roads are not that bad (except for road salt....yuck!) plenty of clear lanes, and the best part is all of the cage drivers thought i was a freak'n lunatic for being out there.they stayed well away from me.....cool :) all in all it was a blast, people waved, blew horns and enjoyed seeing someone else be as stupid as they would have liked to be. gotta love bikers! eric A7 KLR650 A1 EX500 92 851

Riding in the winter is pretty cool, the older folks shake their heads, the younger ones wave, and the kiddies just stare. Peter B cairnpath@... wrote:

It would be reporting the speed of the connection between the modem and the computer, which is not very relevent unless it is less than the connect speed between the modems.>

The 56k connect won't likely be happening in both directions through the modem. The data will come to you at 56k but you would be sending data out a much less than that. Most comms software set the computer to modem speed faster than the modem to modem connect speed to cater for the data compression-in- hardware capabilites of most modems. Mister_T
