Jim Henry wrote a very nice short report about several passes
including the ones you ask about. Titled "Getting high in Colorado"
you only need to type "tincup" as a Keyword search.
I haven't ridden over any of the passes he reviewed yet, but I
would agree with his comment about not attempting most passes when
they are wet. There is most often a clay base to the roads and they
will become very slick. This is bad enough, but then the sticky clay
gets packed into your suspension and fenders. What once was an easy
road becomes the famous "three hour tour".
Just say NO!
Often you can wait a couple hours if it's a quick rain shower and
the sun will dry the road quickly.
