questions about colorado trails

Tim, You should go to the searchable KLR List archives at: http://www.listquest.com/lq/search.html?ln=klr650 Jim Henry wrote a very nice short report about several passes including the ones you ask about. Titled "Getting high in Colorado" you only need to type "tincup" as a Keyword search. I haven't ridden over any of the passes he reviewed yet, but I would agree with his comment about not attempting most passes when they are wet. There is most often a clay base to the roads and they will become very slick. This is bad enough, but then the sticky clay gets packed into your suspension and fenders. What once was an easy road becomes the famous "three hour tour". Just say NO! Often you can wait a couple hours if it's a quick rain shower and the sun will dry the road quickly. Rex
