Depending on whether you like your bags to have small burns in them, maybe, maybe not. I went with a rear rack solution. I used the happy trails racks (mostly because the others hadn't started producing theirs yet. http://www.happy-trails.com http://www.mac-d.com umm. Thanks, they are a bit expensive at $155. Has anyone used the Kawasaki Saddlebag supports with the Aerostich Dry bags? Although the part name is plural (supports) I believe its just one for the muffler side of the bike. Its about $45, but its not as robust as the Happy trails support. I'm just wondering if there is a less expensive solution to the Happy Trails saddlebag supports. I just burned through my Kawi bags, or at least the right one, yesterday...after 15,000 miles...it's freeway running that does it, it seems, the high revs and added exhaust flow heat up the muffler to a higher degree than normal driving does. I think I'll fix them with a leather patch, and then make another heat shield from a barbecue starter chimney that I recently wore out. BTW, I just checked the weather report over yonder in Moab....it's kind of warm, about 98, or 100. Makes you want to melt in your Kilimanjaro jacket....I melted that the other day too, leaning it against the BMW's exhaust pipe. I also burned a hole in my plastic side panel, I caught it before it burned through the Kaw saddle bags. I think i might try to bend out the Kaw, saddle bag supports, So the bag does not fit so close, Also there was no heat shield on my plastic. Both sides are being replaced by Kaw. for free, But have been backordered for a couple of months. Interesting. My A13's right side panel's heat shield material seems to be coming loose. I had to tuck it in under the side panel a couple of times.
