if the spacers are required/desired. So as it stands, I still don't know if the spacers are required for the mounting of a Progressive 500/560 to a stock shock Not needed on mine! Works fine without for over 1000 miles so far. Gary Bettes A10 "Boat"

spacer length w/newer progressive springs

Post by Tom & Virginia » Mon Apr 10, 2000 3:57 pm

I just installed the new Progressive fork springs in my A14. There was a small note in the directions that said the spacer was supposed to be 2" (at least that is what I think it meant). Anyway I cut two inches off the old spacer and put those two inch spacers in the fork. Some recent posts seem to indicate that I was supposed to cut two inches off the stock spacers and then put them back in the forks. Which is the correct procedure? The front forks seem plenty stiff with the two inch spacers I am using. I also installed a Fastline front brake line and the bike handles much better but I have not had the chance to ride it too much yet. Thank you, Tom Erickson
