wolfman luggage has the explorer and Dual Star has one of their own. If you want a DS bag you will have to wait a while. I ordered mine about a month ago and they have not made it yet. they are backlogged.

Hey Shelby, Welcome to the collective! Tankbag suggestions ... skip the magnetic bags and go for a 3 or 4 strap mounted bag. 1. Wolfman Explorer. Great shape (tear drop), pockets front-rear-and both sides, expandable top, map pocket on top, good fitting on KLR, rugged and very serviceable. $130-160. MB rated +9. www.wolfmanluggage.com 2. Marsee Teardrop (15, 20 or 25 liter). Great shape (tear drop), fewer pockets, expandable top, map pocket on top, good fitting on KLR, rugged and very serviceable. $110-147, MB rated +8. www.marseeproducts.com 3. Dual-Star KLR tankbag. Same tear-drop shape, pockets all around, larger still than the any other DS bag (frikking huge). Well respected, though expensive at $175. unrated. www.dual-star.com 4. Any medium sized strap mount tankbag (13 inches or less in length) that you scoop up off ebay or in the discount bin at your scooter dealer. (have used a Fox expandable with good results, though just a bit too long, $40 from Chaparral last year). Make sure it's not too long - the darned thing will push the horn button, starter button when the bars are swung to the stops, or worse yet catch and break the RUN/STOP switch. Big suck! I keep a light merino wool sweater in mine all summer, if I can remember. Why? Because when I buy a six or twelve pack, which will fit in the Explorer on top of all that stuff Mark mentions, I lay th wool sweater over the cold beers and that protects them from the heat absorbed by the black cordura top of the tank bag....it get hot! When I get to the swimmin hole or mountaintop forty or fifty miles away, it's still ice cold. I put the deli fried chicken on top, between the sweater and the bag lid, keeps it warm. PS works like a champ, and I buy 'em on sale in winter late, so it's way cheaper than that stuff in the catalogs....

I used to use an old Eclipse standard bag mounted upside down. Worked OK, but slipped around a bit. The latest Wolfman with its updated mounting system is quite secure, and holds a ton of stuff. And the optional top pocket that fits under the map holder helps it hold even more, a great place for spare maps and guide books. I just rode with mine for a week in southern Utah and it worked great on both dirt and pavement. __Arden

Kawasaki has a tank bag for the KLR if you dont need to carry too much stuff and it allows you to fuel up without touching it,,,,,its by far the cheapest too at about $40 or so....Its not too big but still holds enough for many people.

I'm a big fan of Marsee gear. I have one of their tankbags and I love it, though I haven't taken it on my KLR. Every piece of Marsee gear I have touched has been sturdy and thoughtfully designed. They even hold up well in a crash. IIRC, Marsee makes a bag sloped to fit tanks like the KLRs. --mkb [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
