102 in Bakersfield today. I rode home with my new FirstGear mesh jacket. Believe it or not it was cooler than wearing short sleeves and the sun is off your skin. I love it. TC. P.S.Iordered a 16t counter sprocket should be in tomorrow. I already have a 39t rear will do some experimenting. do not know if will pull such high gearing. If it does my 70mph will be about 3400 rpm. TC

I checked out that www.brosh.com site that Stu recommended. Looks like they have some nice gear at very reasonable prices. Worth a look. __Arden Kysely

Here is another warm weather protection system. I have been using one and am a satisfied customer. http://www.motoport.com/detail.asp?Product_ID=200.503&Merchant_ID=633Pm22C&Merchant_Phone=1-800-777-6499&Merchant_Fax=1-800-766-6661 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I could be wrong, but I thought I saw the "Cool Kevlar" jacket in the new products section of Rider Mag this month? I've had mine for 3 summers now and like it a lot. I have slid down the street (new Kenda + stop light + Big Gun + audience + off camber turn + sprinklers on the street = oops) in it and the Kevlar is functional. Hard to believe upon first looking at it, but it is. I also ordered the armor for mine, but I don't use it any more. If I'm going to go nuts off road, I wear an EVS Ballistic jersey with the integral chest protector, shoulder and forearm armor, back protector, and kidney belt. I think it's a great product, also. heel cleat?

When standing with boots they are kind of like having your foot on a little platform and the "serrated" surface adds some of that grab while leaving the stock rubber guys up front. Definitely just a bit more solid feeling. Helps shift the weight further back when desirable too. These were on my bike when I bought it. I figured leave 'em on unless they cause a problem. While I don't think they are a KLR necessity, they do help a little, IMO. Whenever other KLR guys see my bike they always wonder where they're from, and I don't have the vaguest notion. I just thought someone on the list might have seen them somewhere else. Steve A. in AZ From: "Zachariah Mully" Sent: Wednesday, 5 June, 2002 8:06
