Exactly the point David. Vera Lynn expressed a note of hope and courage during those terrible days. The lights did come on again and better postwar times gave us all a chance to live again. Perhaps with hope, courage and hard work we'll be lucky once more. And, those are the same things that help get us through a TABC restoration. Now back to rebuilding those SUs. Vera Lynn records should be pretty available in England, I got some for a pal of mine years ago, most of what I heard was her with a large male backup group singing very lush versions of popular tunes, and We'll Meet Again is pretty inspiring, of course they got her out during the Falklands crises and the pipes were not what they once were. What about Gracie Fields?? Her sendoff to the troops prior to Dunkirk was a sad but beautiful thing when viewed through our lens from the future. The troops sang along with her, and you wonder how many of those voices sang again later... Best, Ray "Conlige suspectos semper habitos!"

Hey Gene So what's wrong with this `loud obnoxious 60's music'? Frankly I'd prefer that to listening to Vera Lynn! There is of course Glenn Miller and some excellent Jazz from the 40's. However, I would have to have some good hard rock from the Stones et al to sing along to as I drive the TA [that is if I had a CD player in the car!!!]. The alternative is to sing what you want to when you want to as the mood strikes you - the singing adding to the big smile on your face as you drive the TC. Hey Jerry Give me a break the 60's was trash!! There are many great artists and bands from the 40's Including: The Andrew's sisters, Judy Garland, Jo Stafford, The Pied Pipers, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dinah Shore, and Perry Como, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Charlie parker and Dizzie Gillespie to name just a few. The sixties is notable only for its mediocrity. There are few British artists of note during this period. Most British bands copied the American bands and apart from George Formby, Arthur Askey, Petula Clark and the ones already mentioned such as Vera Lynn and Gracie Fields there were few artists. Amazon has a huge collection of 40's music including the British artists so go there if you need CD's. Personally I think Glen Miller's music typifies the T-ABC's. I don't have a radio (XPAG listening is essential to driving). Music to my ears, and don't we all listen for that miss, that burp that strange sound? I recently installed a navigation system. Was hard to find one that worked with a positive ground car, but the little compass needle does not seem to care. I am looking for a positive ground Radio/TV/DVD/CD changer. Next I might install an ex-tractor exhaust? Got a super charger too. I charges my cell phone with it, works super. Anybody have a wiring diagram for the On Octagon System? (If Cadillac can have on-star, can't we have on-octagon?) PTH
