engine dying when turning left at slow speed

It would be simple enough to remove the throttle/grip to test that premise. shrug.m.

The test is when you are setting idling and turn the handle bars to the left.  As you see the throttle cable get tight, maybe because there are unnecessary obstructions, it dies.  On Sunday, July 6, 2014 2:50 PM, Martin Earl wrote: It would be simple enough to remove the throttle/grip to test that premise. shrug.m. Quick check would be to see if the throttle snaps back on its own when released; if the cables are adjusted too tight it'll bind and won't allow the return spring to pull it back to the idle stop.
Enricher cable seems more likely, if the 2000 rpm test rules out an electrical ignition cutout issue, by not cutting out when the rpm is raised..

Yes, it does not die at 2000 rpm or more.  Never thought about the cable being too tight.  I'll check that out. Not sure what the enricher cable is.

Nice Mark. I wonder who will be the first to break the sound barrier on a KLR. Paul Sent from my iPhone

I don't remember it, but it "MUST HAVE" happened...... My GPS say's my max speed last trip out was 568MPH. (And we all know the gps's are more accurate  then the speedo, that is off about 5mph.) WOW It happened so  fast I missed it. On Monday, July 7, 2014 4:37 AM, "achesley43@... [DSN_KLR650]" DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com> wrote:   Hmmmmmmmm! I have a ways to go. LOL! A quick top end run last week to check out a new set of tires at speed gave me a GPS reading of 92.6 mph with a few more left in it. Didn't hammer on it long.  I was pleasantly surprize it would still go that fast as it's an A14 with 37,000 miles and totally stock.
