My Drink cup has a Straw that count ? Currently the Beer Bottle does not... Oh ya I got a can of Liq Wrench and it also came with no straw. Left it at camp... Dooden A15 Green Ape

Mark, If it's like the KLR, the ignition switch has more than one set of contacts. One set serves the tail light, so in the PARK and ON position, that light is on. Also, in ON position, a set of contacts actuates the ignition circuits, and another set turns on the headlight. So if the ignition contacts are gummed up with old, dried-up grease, that would explain your bike's symptoms. It might be possible to disassemble the switch and clean things up and reassemble with a bit of silicone grease. An easier thing to try would be to squirt some WD40 in where the contacts are and crank the key back and forth a few times and hope that clears things up.
