DOH !!!! For some reason I thought he was talking about the Black plastic cap over the diaphram !!!! that would really make it run like sh*t !!!!! Didn't think about the cap over the pilot screw....I've got the one with the knurled end and love it. Mike Huber Carlsbad, NM To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com From: dooden@... I used a small drill, then started a small sheet metal screw into the hole, and used pliers to pluck it out, then since carb was already turned, turned the screw in to a "soft" seat and backed it out 1 and 3/4 turns. (thats close enough most times) Hitting the sweet spot involves burning fingers without proper 90 degree screwdriver like tool, but warmed up using a handmade tool, I turned screw in till it ran crappy, then tracking rotation backed it out till it idled crappy... then turned it back in HALF way. Typically about 1 and 3/4 turns from a soft seat is pretty, well close enough for a KLR. :-) Will make cold starts ALOT easier.... Set pretty lean for emissions. Dooden A15 Green Ape

<><><><><><> <><><><><><> J#3, You are certainly correct on this. I had no idea they didn't go that small. I was wrong suggesting you try Harley for this part. This morning I stopped at the shop I've worked at in the summer as a test rider. They are a very large Harley only dealer. Smallest they have listed is 160. I asked one of the dyno techs and he checked his personal stash and confirmed the smallest he has is a 160. Sorry for suggesting something that for sure was a waste of time. : ) Best, Jeff Saline ABC # 4412 South Dakota Airmarshal Airheads Beemer Club www.airheads.org The Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota 75 R90/6, 03 KLR650 . . ____________________________________________________________ Groupon™ Official Site 1 ridiculously huge coupon a day. Just a small attempt at hubris. and proof reading. Might have been better received on April 1st. shrug. One private message opinioned, 'as opposed to the #0 cylinder?' Yeah, the #0 cylinder is when the pig has died or run out of gas and you are left to push it...= 'zero' cylinders...now that would make a T shirt than only a dual sport rider could understand. The phot: ATGATT pushing your 2-wheeled pig, Teh caption: "Checking the #0 cylinder for compression". Watch out, the KLR rider is about to blow a gasket! revmaaatin.
