Carb with an accelerator pump. A diaphragm propels a charge of fuel into the intake when the throttle is opened rapidly. The added burst of fuel minimizes any lag. Twist the throttle and get an instant response... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carburetor#Accelerator_pump http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=239791

DC, Good one DC-though I think is quals as KLR vs NKLR. I looked at reusing the acid bottle; the rascals glued the lid on! Instead: I use a 'nose-syringe' for babies; Baby boogers throughly purged. Very precise water control and eliminates the possibility of being daft, uh, mostly daft. I also use a turkey baster to suck out the old brake fluid before adding fresh and purging the line the old fashioned way with 100% fresh fluid. revmaaatin.

KLRs use a Keihin CVK40, with no accelerator pump. Harley big twins use a Keihin CV40 *with* an accelerator pump. I think the Keihin CV40 from a Harley would fit but you would have to futz with the linkage: http://johnbiccum.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/Keihin-CV40/1673602_oTgsG#82033214 _B3gBC From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of s2mumford Sent: Wednesday, June 29, 2011 10:28 AM To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Subject: [DSN_KLR650] Re: seen the light Carb with an accelerator pump.
