A work lamp or trouble light under the hood is an old Minnesota dodge for getting a car to move on a way subzero morning. A flood lamp or even a heat lamp with an aluminum shade should work better on a bike which lacks an enclosed engine compartment to trap the heat. Of course, it rarely occurs to us up here even to try to start a bike on a morning that is too cold for the cars.

Carl, It sounds as if there is some corrosion build-up freezing the pin in place. I would suggest using a heat gun to heat the caliper in the area of the head of the pin. The aluminum caliper metal will expand more than the steel pin. That should help free the pin. I wonder whether your computer is set up to NOT save your yahoo cookie. When I click on Visit Your Group, the page that comes up shows my yahoo ID on a line below the red "Yahoo Groups". Mike Martin, Louisville, KY ________________________________ From: Carl Picco Clip Pin, Clymers instructions, Yes I ve been following them exactly. I m sorry to leave out that info, yes I pulled the retaining pin/clip. The pin itself will not move! It will not turn/rotate. It s as if it s welding or red locktighted in place. I m on the verge of cutting it off & trying to drill it out so I can place a new one there. But for that much time & work I might as well buy a used one. Thanks for the suggestions on how to get into the archives but I just keep getting asked to join the group again and again... [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
