Now there's a happy thought... miles and miles of sand. Sounds like a job for the Lakota. Right tool for the right job. That's my motto. Or at least how I try to explain the collection to the wifey. It had those "trials" tires that weren't much good either offroad or onroad. Good for learning how to not wipe out though:). ed, with fond memories of one indestructible XL350 A17

Arden, that's not funny. I usually take my sand laying down...and judging from the pictures I see occasionally, so do some of our friends. Heck, I am not partial laying down in sand, I will even do it in mud, and more often, ruts. revmaaatin. whose 10 year old son thinks he is getting a treat to ride off-road with is 51 yo dad (Who do you think helps pick up the KLR?)

At my weight of 280 lb. it looks like the Russell Day-Long seat is the choice for me (the seat with 'wings' and a steel spring inside for support). I always heard good things about Russell seats. I've heard almost all good things about Mayer seats. I've ordered a Russell and look forward to trying it out! >In my search for info regarding my "pain in the butt" post I would like to ask the group for input regarding the aftermarket seat options out there. I've called a number of the manufacturers today and gotten good info from Bill Mayer Saddles, Tim at Happy Trails was more than accomodating to my request for info and the folks at Russel Saddles spent some time answering questions as well. I also got some feedback on the gel seat kit from Dual Starr. > > Can anyone provide input on these seats? > > Thanks, > > Garrett > > > > >--------------------------------- >Make Yahoo! received mine Thursday with quick release system; 2 days from actual online order; Aerostich; going on today; they look, feel every bit as good as described in ads and Mr. Mann's testimonial. John Mann wrote: I have the Ortliebs on my bike and they work great!!!. I had the Kawasaki bags which are really nice until I made one rainy trip to Chicago, then they went on eBay . The Ortliebs are definately waterproof and almost bulletproof. These are heavy duty bags and will take alot of abuse, the lack of a zipper makes them next to indestructible. The fit is nice they mount easy...you have to have a rack of some sort to keep the rt. bag off the exhaust. I got mine from Aerostitch..Im sure they will ship to Canada. --------------------------------- Love cheap thrills? Enjoy PC-to-Phone calls to 30+ countries for just 2 /min with Yahoo!
