Bogdan/Carl. Thanks for the tips. I bought a can of Plasti-Dip (brand name not Napa) at a local hardware store. From the initial coat looks like it'll work great. Thanks!! You can get it in a non can form (designed for dipping tools into). Might be worth decanting a bit into a small container for the emergency tool kit if your running with a repaired diaphragm. carb diaphragm question
The slider and diaphram are from a carburated HD 883 sportster (96). I
bought one 2 weeks ago while rebuilding my Keihin. It's a 100% perfect
fit. Total cost 39.95, plus $3 for the float bowl O ring. Don't have
the part number at my fingertips: look on the KLR650.net site about 2
weeks ago for a thread titled 'carb problems' . Why mess with
alternative methods when 40 bucks is a cheap way of doing it 'right'.

carb diaphragm question
go get the spray on plasti-dip from NAPA.
Fixes a lot of stuff.
My can that I bought to repair a diaphram made me much more money
than the can cost.
Repaired a lot of carb-motor boots that cracked and are no longer
able to find cheaply from older bikes.
I also used it to seal the boot into my klr airbox.
Good stuff.
Thanks Bogdan!
