I did just call them and the customer service person does say that they are still considering how to help their customers, so there is still some chance they might do something for those with the "bic locks". Not holding my breath, and even if they do credit me in some way I doubt I will buy their products again.

Not that I'm Steve, but you can buy Abus locks at http://www.lockitt.com Judiciuos googling (for motorcycle/disc locks, I think) will find more such sites. -Lujo
