I have not started with this mostly because I am still in the research phase for my B9, but that doesn't mean I have not given it some thought. I have seen let's call it the history of the CSS and how it became to be a while back on a video of a member who I think coined this acronym.
As for my thoughts, it is crude and elemental still, but I have thought that it should have the following whenever possible:Modular: That I can have a space in the CSS dedicated for modules such as arms, CPUs, dedicated boards. This would allow me to install, remove and upgrade as if were plug and play.Dedicated power distribution: Have power and ground from the source available through the CSS similar to our veins, arteries, and capilla (typo there).So I look at it as Red for +VDC (artery) and Black -VDC (vein), then breaking out from the core of these it would be the same colors but a lesser gauge wire. In those places where I would step down the voltage I would have these as Orange for +VCC and Blue for -VCC.Dedicated signal or LAN line: Some computerized system are going with a one wire protocol while others have two or more. I would consider a "nervous system" where this would be distant from power to avoid noise to mess up with the logic. Green would be what I would use for data transmission. Any other data line I would think on a different color, for example if it is a motor signal go with purple, if it is power that the unit provides go with pink. If it is audio related go with white, brown, purple and their light color version or those with a white stripe. lol if I hit the Powerball this week, or cardboard if I dream too much. But strong and lightweight, is my thought, perhaps aluminum, considering I could use Lexan, and other materials to shed off the weight.I also have given thought in the event I need to remove the CSS as a whole from the B9, where would I hook it up to life and plug ports to make this as painless as possible. Again using cars parts as an example, the modern cars found in a junkyard or salvage yard has nice door connectors which I figure are weather proof. You could even get it with the bellow boot that you see when you open the door.These are my thoughts but easier said than done. Once I start on working on B9 with a Torso present then things will certainly change as I come across challenges. One being "Space" I will like to read other thought and ideas on this so thank you Big Sky Country for starting this thread!
