After exhaustive measurements and checking I have found the rear axle to
be straight and OK. The axle is not in the correct placement on the RH spring
and changing this has eliminated my suspected oversteer completely. Many
thanks to everyone that responded on and off list to my question.
Checking the wheels and tires in relationship to the fenders only
confuses the issue further...it is amazing how a car that looks symmetrical
can be so far off, RH to LH sides. This makes me appreciate the
"handcrafting" that went into our old cars.
