I started the WD-40 regiment when I purchased my new 03 KLR.
I noticed the rollers gettin real loose at 10,000 miles.
Pretty sure I washed all the factory lube out!
I was sure I needed something more.
I started usin that nasty whale sperm PJ shtuff.
It turned black on everything from rear wheel to back of my shirt!
Hell, I found it on my windshield!
I started usin clear chain wax and with no mess whatsoever, kept my
shtuff goin for 20,000 miles on the new 03.
Course the front sprocket had to be replaced a few times, which is to
 be expected.
 Rod,,,,thinkin $100 ain't bad for 20.000 miles

friend. It quieted my 12K chain down, freed up the sticky links and
doesn't attract dirt. It is based on a plastic carrier as opposed to
the wax carrier most use. It dries to a base that coats the chain,
but is not tacky. Cheap too.
