i love my klr ....

Post by Ed Rockefeller » Fri Aug 31, 2012 1:35 pm

Here in east TN (read as NASCAR country) beer selection is ... non-existent. I usually make a run to Knoxville, TN (40 miles away) when I want something different. However, today I pointed the bike east and went into Marshall, NC -- same distance as Knoxville -- but better roads! Was having fun tzinging along the twisty sections and found myself in Marshall rather quickly. Found a road on Googlemaps that looked off-road-ish. Sweet! I took it and it turned into gravel in short order and even offered some ruts to navigate. Nothing technical or difficult, but fun just the same! Maybe the best beer run I have ever made. Did I mention I love my KLR? it's always an adventure adventure ed newport, tn 09 klr650 (Ms.Chif) 07 gsf1250s (Cloud9) 01 gsf600s (Pearl) 84 vf750f

2004 for sale

No, I'm not selling my KLR to buy a cool DR650 like Peter Egan has! But I am selling it. craigslist listing with pics here https://post.craigslist.org/manage/3215593850 Price is $2,100 for folks here. Mileage is 32,6xx and climbing. Valves were adjusted at 30,000. New Dunlop 606 tires at 30,980. Accessories and aftermarket bits are extensive - 320mm front brake (best KLR mod ever!), Progressive fork springs, custom windscreen, 12-volt power outlet, bark busters, Pro-Taper handlebar, aluminum bash plate, rear master cylinder guard, side racks, upgraded shifter, upgraded foot pegs, upgraded subframe bolts, glass fuses replaced with blade-type fuses in waterproof holder, AGM battery, carb vent mod, second gen KLR seat (firmer than original, but I still have the original) and yes, the infamous KLR doohickey was replaced. All lights and signals work. This bike has been well taken care of, but in the course of adventures it has accumulated bumps and bruises. All the pieces are there and they all work, but it is not a garage queen. I am only selling because I recently added another bike to the stable and don't have room to keep it.
