I found this on Ebay, they are selling a 320 mm oversize front brake rotor with bracket to relocate the caliper, a new twin piston caliper, and brake pads. They also sell an oversize master cylinder with a 14 mm cylinder vs. the stock KLR 12.7 mm. These are for 1987-2007 KLR650's Has anybody tried these? I'm looking for feedback. Their Ebay feedback sounds good but I don't trust that as much as this crowd.

David- Tempting, isn't it? I can't find CZR brakes anywhere on the web except this eBay listing. They also list an inexpensive exhaust, aka "Jetson", which gets mixed-to-poor reviews. In case you want to take a chance and report back, there's 2 hours and 7 minutes to go on the current listing, with 0 bids so far. The last time the time ran out, they relisted, so I don't suppose there's any hurry. -JWF

I wonder what replacement pads are available for it, besides the ones this vendor sells. I searched Galfer's and EBC's for "CZR" and came up empty.

Explosions of L-Ion batteries are very rare. Newer ones are "explosion proof". If they did blow up with any regularity, we'd be reading stories of huge explosions in hybrid electric cars. Having seen lead acid (conventional car batteries) blow up, I'm far more wary of them. I've settled on AGM batteries for my bikes and have found that, regardless of manufacturer, it's a gamble on how long they'll last. Last year's no-name brand in my 250 Super Sherpa lasted less than 1 year. Right now, my east coast KLR has a Sears Die Hard AGM battery in it that I paid ....drum roll please.... $15. They were on closeout sale at the local K Mart, and I bought all three that were there. The positive and negative terminals are reversed from the standard, but I knew from experience that it's easy to stretch (or relocate) the battery cables to fit. My remote KLR (California) has an AGM battery that I bought at Wal Mart because it was the only place that was open when I needed one. I'm sure that it was made in China, but it's been 3 years now, and the bike sits for 12 months at a time with no tender on it, and has always started right up - a testament to both the battery and the reliability of the KLR.
