Actually now that I read the bottle. The Mercedes brake fluid
is DOT 4 PLUS not Dot5
Wet Boiling Point 358 degrees
SAE Spec J1703, ISO 4925
No, I don't think it was actually made by Mercedes but it was
what I had on hand. Didn't create any issues with the old KLR brake
fluid....says (DOT4/DOT3) right on the label so I gather it was
compatible...though I bled the hell out of the system to be
overly safe. I just thought it was synthetic because it was for a newer Mercedes and I could cause some expensive damage if I got the wrong one--there is much more bleeding involved in a car.
TWO FINGERS BABY! My 04 KLR now feels so much safer on the street:
HID headlight slim ballast headlight kit
Progressive fork springs
LED Tail/Brake Light
Front over-sized EBC Contour Rotor
Galfer Front SS brake line
Galfer Rear Wave rotor
BUT, NOW I KRYPTONITE LOCK IT WHEN I AM IN BAD NEIGHBORHOODS.
J#3
dot5 brake fluid; feel so much safer now when on the street!
