my '09 had a white/ash spark plug?
John,
The white color usually indicates a heat problem. You could be running a lean fuel mixture or you may be running a lot of high speeds. You could try a heat range colder spark plug. The stock plug that most everyone uses is a NGK DPR8EA-9 or the Iridium DPR8EIX-9 Try running a DPR9EA-9 or DPR9EIX-9. Are you running the stock air filter and stock jetting?
Since there is no lead in our fuel these days, sparkplugs don t change color like they used to. But white is a good sign that it is running hot.

Greetings,
Had my bike at the dealer doing some of the 7.5k stuff I didn't have time or tools for, and I asked about the plug. The mechanic showed it to me, and was a white/ash color.
He joked it was from running the bike too wide open. Any other thoughts? I didn't think I beat on the bike that bad...

klr headlight-bulb replacement madness
So i was very ambitious this weekend and decided to r4eplace the stock bulb
wth a very nice 100w bulb from Fred.
I got to say it was a b***ch to take off. There is a wire/clamp there that
holds the lightbulb in place so it doesnt move inside the headlight.
So it was hard to take off but impossible to put back on.
I must have spent an hour and a half and couldnt get it back on. I did not
take pics while i was taking it off so i had no referance.
Long story short i gt very frustrasted, put the lightbulb in, placed the
rubber cover on it, tied it all up with some wire so that it stays in there
and had a drink.
Now i know that if the bulb moves its gonna die.
Can anyone help me?
Does the clamp go under the rubber and which way do i place it?
Its probably impossible to explain by email.
Its great, the light points directly at the drivers rear veiw mirror.....
Someone is probably gonna kill me soon
Thanks for your help,
David

David had the same problem and was almost to the point of topping myself, i cursed because i didn't remember to look at how it was attached,It's not something you can really describe over the net i don't think, what i did was look at another bike i had and then it was easy.
If you have a friend with a bike or go to a motorcycle shop and they can probably help you out, hope this helps.
