ufo low fender for 2002 klr650, green

Greetings, Had my bike at the dealer doing some of the 7.5k stuff I didn't have time or tools for, and I asked about the plug. The mechanic showed it to me, and was a white/ash color. He joked it was from running the bike too wide open. Any other thoughts? I didn't think I beat on the bike that bad... John

It's running lean, in general. This is common, because the factory sets them up to run lean to meet EPA standards. A tweak of the pilot screw and a shim of the needle should give you the light tan your looking for. The main jets are fine. Thomas J. ~~~~IMO, the only time you will get reliable information about your jetting by looking at plug colour is after a plug chop, meaning, you close (chop) the throttle, turn off the ignition, grab the clutch (all simultaneously) and coast or brake to a stop and pull/check the plug right then and there. Steve, A fork brace and the UFO fender mount on the same spot on the forks. I have seen them mounted together but they had to cut the fender to fit around the fork brace. (not pretty) http://www.cs.princeton.edu/~lbauer/klr/low-fender/ This is the old style Superbrace fork brace and the new style Superbrace is much slimmer. I would be concerned using a low fender and a fork brace if you are riding anywhere there is mud. You want lots of clearance around the tire so that it doesn t get stopped up with mud. The Happy Trails/Eagle fork brace can be adjusted higher with longer bolts and spacers. The Superbrace used to come in a standard model and a knobby tire model. Superbrace dropped the standard model and only makes the taller arch knobby tire model. You could drill your own holes in the Superbrace or the Happy Trails fork braces if you want to mount some other fender to them. I accept any returns on any regularly stocked parts as long as the part is in like new condition and in the original packing. If you have any other questions, please let me know. I don't want to lose the brace, but do want the low fender. I hope to lose the fairing and install twin lamps and a more effective wind screen without fairing if possible. I may need a stronger alternator, but I really want twin beams and better screen. We'll see how it looks, but I'm more about function.
