can anyone tell me what kind of exhaust this is?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/130534651148?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fmotors.shop.ebay.com%3A80%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D130534651148%26_sacat%3D%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
and is the muffler/spark arrestor allen screwed or riveted together?
Also, anybody have any ideas on the easiest way to get rid of the rust on the header pipe and what with/how to paint?
Thanks,

Can't tell for sure but it looks like a stock header pipe with a rather mangled job of welding a tractor muffler on it.

Thanks Marc!
Looks like I scored if I can salvage it. Then it is a stock header pipe but has the SS tubing after the junction.
Anybody run one of these? How loud? Are those allens or rivets?
Part Number:
11-3001-525-02
Product Name:
SLIP ON EXHAUST, SS TUBING ALUMINUM MUFFLER

Jeffrey,
Marc's right, Its a Jardine JT4....I know cuz I have one....They fit right on the stock head pipe .....you can also get a tip insert that makes it a bit quieter....the end comes off with allen screws ...I just bought a fiberglass repacking kit from Fred and did mine ...these are loud mufflers new....I pulled a 2" thick fiberglass donut out of the end of mine ...the rest was hollow...no wonder it was so loud....The Moose repacking kit came with a bag of long fiberglass strings that you push all the way down into the muffler till it has the density of seat foam...I ended up using about 3/4 of the bag and it's way better than whay it was....I LIKE IT !!!!

KHI, Kawasaki Heavy Industries is a very large/global and diverse organization. Did you know that Kawasaki's one man submarine led the attack of Pearl Harbor? True story. If you are ever out around Lincoln, Nebraska, you should inquire about taking a tour of their state of the art, manufacturing facility. Just from the pictures I have seen, it is very impressive.

<><><><><><><> <><><><><><><> Jeffrey #3, I haven't done this to a header pipe but have used this procedure on some other very rusty parts. Use a battery charger to remove the rust. Here's how. You'll need a nonconductive (plastic or rubber) container large enough to hold the pipe. Fill it with water and add a teaspoon of baking soda for each gallon of water. You'll also need a piece of scrap metal, sheet metal works well and the more surface area the better with in reason. Clip the negative lead of the battery charger to the header pipe. Clip the positive lead to the scrap metal. Submerge both pieces in the container and don't let them touch. Make sure the parts don't touch!!! Plug in the battery charger. The higher the amperage the better, again within reason. Ten amps isn't too much. The water will probably bubble a bit and that will let you know the process is working. The rust will move from the header to the scrap metal. Turn off the battery charger before removing the parts from the solution. You might have to wipe or lightly wire brush the header to remove some rust residue. If it's not clean in the first go let it work a bit longer. Depending on the amount of rust and the battery charger and size of parts it could take all day. But maybe check every couple of hours. Let us know how it works if you decide to use this.
