Well I rode to work Friday and when I leave at 6:00 , it wouldn't start. My three year old Yuasa Gel died.
That's not the problem though. I pushed her to the top of the parking garage twice
to try and push start. But it would push in gear with the clutch pulled . I tried to get it rolling in neutral then put it in gear.
Does this indicate a need for clutch adjustment or mayabe something worse?
It still wouldn't start. I had to get the guy across the street at the tire place to come
over with a starting pack. I had a new battery in it by noon Saturday. When riding, I don't
notice any clutch drag when I'm stopped at a light.

Sorry It WOULDN'T push in gear, even downhill.

clutch adjustment?
Was the bike in 1st gear or 2nd?
Try 2nd gear, if you haven't already. (slightly better mechanical advantage
for the wheel over the engine.)

About 10 years ago I was having breakfast at a Hotel in San Diego. There were 4 CHP motorcycle officers at a nearby table. I spotted their BMWs in the parking lot. I walked up to the table and said, "I hate you guys. You get paid to ride those bike on some of the best roads California has to offer. I hate you guys." I was grinning from ear to ear. As they left the parking lot, each one of them pulled a wheelie as I stood watching. They didn't have to wave.

clutch adjustment?
Charlie,
The bike has a wet clutch, which will have some clutch drag because of the
engine oil on the plates. It will be hard to push the bike when it is in gear.
So you will have to push it as fast as possible in neutral, then shift to second
or third and let out the clutch.
Adjustment of the clutch is covered in the owner's manual. In short, the lever
should pull away from the lever bracket 2 to 3 mm. when the lever is moved to
take up the play in the cable.
